The Quiet Side Of Great Smoky Mountains National Park

Great Smoky Mountains National Park in North Carolina and Tennessee is the most visited national park in the US system, with over 9 million visitors in 2010. If you want to escape to a quite spot in the park, check out the Big Creek area on the eastern side of the park within North Carolina. This is one of my favorite areas. An old logging road follows Big Creek to Midnight Hole and Mouse Creek Falls, which is only 2 miles from the trail head.

You can see my pictures from recent trip to this beautiful area at Tom Mosher Photography
